Will there be alcohol provided?
There is a full bar in operation in the venue. It is a CASH ONLY bar so make sure you hit an ATM before you arrive.
What is the parking situation?
There is no parking at the event as it is a street side venue. There is Q-Park on Parnell Street, D1 and also on Marlborough Street, D1 that will do reasonable prices for Dublin. (if you are staying in a hotel near either of those car parks you will likely get a discount so don’t forget to ask at the front desk to find out)
What is the accommodations plan?
Please see the ”Accommodation” page on the top menu. I’ve made a list of a few nearby hotels that I recommend and given links to their websites and various other booking pages. Book sooner rather than later for your accommodation. Think of it as booking a flight, the price only goes up the closer it gets to your preferred date. You can also get discounts by booking and pre-paying on most hotels websites, however you can’t change or cancel your booking then. (not that you’d want to anyway)
Should I leave the significant other/family at home?
They are very welcome at the event. Unlike Fanfest the focus of the event is not a bunch of spaceship roundtables but rather having fun, drinking, eating, and meeting new people. There are plenty of games and activities which have nothing to do with EVE. If you think that they would still have a good time by all means bring them!
Does everyone in my group need to buy a ticket?
All adults in attendance need to purchase a ticket. Children 12 years and under can come for free, but the majority of the ticket cost is going to pay for the venue hire and t-shirt costs etc. so regardless of whether or not they plan on participating in some of the events we ask that you purchase a ticket for each person.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a print out of your ticket, and we ask that everyone bring a photo ID for check in too since there is alcohol being sold at the venue. The bar staff will also ID anyone who looks underage, take is as a compliment on how young you look!
If I only plan to come for one day, do I still need to pay the full price of the ticket?
Since it is difficult to setup a simple way of charging per day, or verifying that people only come on the day they paid for we do not offer partial tickets. However if you know that you will only be able to attend a small portion of it please toss me a mail and we will work something out.
If I do not want to participate in the scheduled events, what kind of stuff can I do while they are going on?
A great deal of the event doesn’t actually have a defined schedule. Board games, card tables and the like are setup and available anytime for playing some games. Did I mention there’s a bar at this venue? 🙂
What is the weather like?
We will be inside, dry and warm.
